Divorce Lawyer

Working Towards Your Best Possible Solution

The details of separating a shared life into individual lives can be emotionally and financially draining. When you're facing divorce, you want a lawyer who understands not only the legal hurdles but one who also considers your entire well-being.

I am attorney Paul V. Moyer. From my office in Orlando, Florida with the ability to meet with you in satellite offices located in Daytona Beach, Orlando, Clermont, and Kissimmee. I represent married couples, domestic partners and same-sex couples throughout the Orlando metro and surrounding communities with divorce and legal separation. I meet with clients directly to address their concerns and help them make informed decisions that work toward their best possible solutions.

Handling All the Issues

At my firm, I work hard to help you protect your rights and pursue your interests. I handle the various aspects of property division, including:

  • Protecting your individual assets
  • Distribution of 401(k) plans and other pension plans
  • Equitable division of marital property, such as houses, cars and personal possessions
  • Equal debt distribution

I also handle other typical aspects of divorce, such as child custody and support, time-sharing arrangements, and spousal support (alimony), if applicable.

It is usually preferred to have the case settled on an uncontested basis. If matters need to be resolved through litigation, I will defend your rights at trial. My goal is to obtain the best possible result for you.

  • Assets and Debts In a divorce, Florida law divides "marital" assets and debts. These are essentially those items that have been acquired or incurred during the marriage. There are some exceptions in the case of certain gifts or appreciations on pre-marital assets. While Florida is not a "Community Property" state, Florida's Equitable Distribution can be confusing. I can help assure that the division is fair and complies with the law.

Skilled Winter Park Divorce Attorney

For those who wish to settle their differences without resorting to a trial, I provide m services in mediation through collaborative law. I can serve your needs as an attorney or as a mediator. I will advise you on your rights and explore your options so you can make informed decisions.

If you are a parent, Florida law often requires mediation before taking your case to trial. It also starts from an equal time-sharing between parents unless to do so would not be in your children's best interests. I will help you achieve a parenting plan that accommodates your unique family circumstances.
